Captain Marvel is the newest film in the Marvel franchise, meaning that it is just one film closer to the most anticipated Marvel movie of the year, Avengers: Endgame. However, this is not just a stepping-stone movie – a placeholder if you will until we get to the main event. It is a film that manages to stay as engaging and as entertaining as Iron Man, Captain America: The First Avenger, or Dr. Strange was when they first debuted.
Carol Danvers, the superhuman Captain Marvel, is played by Academy Award winner Brie Larson. While many criticized her when the trailers came out as being very one-note, she fully proves that she can carry not only this film, but will be capable of can acting alongside future Avenger teammates Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), and Chris Evans (Captain America).
Alongside Larson is Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role as the soon to be S.H.I.E.L.D director Nick Fury, Jude Law as Yon-Rogg and Ben Mendelsohn as Talos. While Jackson and Law turn in performances that as good as you would expect, Mendelsohn surprisingly is the stand out star next to Larson. His character has a pivotal shift that you would not have expected, and he manages to convincingly portray every turn his character takes. I would like to go into more details on this but then we are getting into spoiler territory – so just know that you will walk away from Captain Marvel loving his character and hoping that he will have future appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
One of the most anticipated movies that is set to come out this year has dropped its international trailer! Check out this new trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home.
There is no official word, yet, on if this film takes place between the events of Spider-Man: Homecoming and Avengers: Infinity War or if it is a direct sequel to after the upcoming Avengers: Endgame. However, it is speculated that it will place as a direct sequel to Avengers: Endgame.
According to a synopsis put out by Sony, Spider-Man: Far From Home shows the next chapter of the Spider-Man: Homecoming series! Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent.

We finally get our second glimpse at M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming movie Glass, and it doesn’t disappoint.
If you are unaware, Glass ties together the two worlds of Shyamalan’s films Unbreakable that came out in 2000 and Split that came out in 2016. The two movies showed three very different superhumans – Samuel L. Jackson‘s fragile yet cunning Mr. Glass, Bruce Willis‘s strong and unbreakable David Dunn and James McAvoy‘s Wendell Crumb who has 24 different personalities living inside him. Check out the trailer below!
The first trailer was debuted earlier this year at San Diego Comic Con to great applause. And this trailer does more to get audiences excited. If this movie proofs to be as good as the trailers have advertised then it is not question that Shyamalan is back to form and delivering entertaining movies.
Glass is scheduled to release into theaters on the 18th of January. If you haven’t seen any of the other two movies that this one ties into you better see them by then. From the trailer alone it is easy to speculate that you will be lost if you don’t know the backstory of each of these very unique characters.
What did you think of this 2nd trailer? Did you see Split and Unbreakable? What did you think of them? Leave a comment below and let’s make a discussion out of it.
The first trailer for Captain Marvel debuted today on Good Morning America, and introduces academy award-winning actress Brie Larson as the very anticipated Captain Marvel in the continuing Marvel Cinematic Universe.
We got our first tease of Captain Marvel in the post credit scene in Avengers: Infinity War, just as Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury became dust due to Thano’s triumph over the Avengers (spoiler, I guess, if you have not seen the movie by now).
The trailer doesn’t reveal much of Captain Marvel’s story, however it does show a lot of cool shots from the movie. I get the feeling that Marvel Studios is holding back a lot of the “wow moments,” and are using this first trailer as a way to introduce us, the audience, to a relatively unknown character.
Captain Marvel will be in theaters on March 8, 2019.
An awesome trailer for The Legend of Tarzan, featuring Alexander Skarsgard as the “Lord of the Apes” and Margot Robbie as Jane dropped today and it looks amazing! Director of the film, David Yates (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 & 2) seems to be bring the jungle legend to life in a very positive way. In the trailer there is beautiful camerawork amidst the trees and what look like come crazy action sequences between the film villains, protagonist, and of course gorillas.
The villain of the film is intriguing, because it involves Christoph Waltz, who is always a great villain. Acting alongside Walts will be Samuel L. Jackson, who will surely bring a manic energy to the film as he always does.
The film obviously is not an adaptation of the Disney animated film, Tarzan, but is more of an adaptation of the collection of books made famous by author Edgar Rice Burroughs. The Legend of Tarzan has a release date set for July 1, 2016.
