New ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ Movie With Hans Zimmer

If you are a fan of the little yellow, pants wearing, sponge that lives in a pineapple under the sea then this will no doubt get you excited.  A new SpongeBob SquarePants movie will be coming to theaters soon.

After the last two movies grossed $140 million and $325 million respectively it is no surprise that the studio would want to go back to this well again and print more money.  This third installment, titled The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie: It’s A Wonderful Sponge, is to be written and directed by the creator himself Tim Hill.

The film is set for a release date of July 17, 2020 – and will tell the “origin story” of SpongeBob, and how exactly he got his square pants.  Also, it is being reported that nonother than Hans Zimmer will be scoring the film.  This is huge! Zimmer, being one of Hollywood’s greatest composers, has worked on music featured in The Lion King,  GladiatorThe Last SamuraiInceptionThe Dark Knight, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, and many more.  If you are a fan of movies in any capacity then you have hear this man’s iconic music.

President of Paramount Animation, Mireille Soria, said in an interview regarding the new SpongeBob project:

“For the first time ever, we’re going to get to the origin of how little SpongeBob met the rest of the Bikini Bottom gang at summer camp.  The film’s opening will take place at Camp Coral when all of our favorite characters meet for the first time.”

If you are a fan of this franchise, then get excited, 2020 is not that far away.

‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ May Get A Reboot!

There are few franchises that have made as much money as Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise that started all the way back in 2003.  However, all good things eventually come to and end, or at least get a reboot.

According to a report by Deadline, Disney is looking to possibly reboot the billion dollar franchise with Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

It is still very early in the planning process but it is being reported that Pirates producer Jerry Bruckheimer is said to continue producing this new rebooted franchise.  However, it is too early to know if Johnny Depp will be playing the beloved Captain Jack Sparrow.

What do you think of this potential reboot?  Should Disney go through with it, make another sequel, or just let the franchise lie?  Leave a comment below and let’s make a discussion out of it.
