I have a great question that comes in from Alex Riley who sent me the question via Facebook; and she writes:
Rumor has it that there will be a Top Gun 2…how do you think that will compare to the first?
Short, sweet, and to the point. I like it.
As for the first part of the question I can indeed confirm for you that as of right Top Gun 2 has been greenlit by Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productionsand is being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer – who was actually the producer for the first film as well.
The film, however, is in its very early stages of production. As of right now the script is still being written by both writers Peter Craig (wrote Hunger Games Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2) and Justin Marks(wrote The Jungle Book). Also, there is still no director attached to the film at this time. So they still need to decide that. However, it has been confirmed that Tom Cruise is indeed reprising his role as Maverick, as well as Val Kilmer coming back as Iceman. Continue reading “Q&A: Is Top Gun 2 Happening?”
Paramount Pictures is ready to dive in with its movie transfer of the global hit TV series Baywatch. It has already been announced that Seth Gordon will be directing the film and that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Zac Efron are set to play the male leads.
It is now being reported by Deadline that Paramount Pictures has a short list of actresses who will test for the female lead.
The names being reported are: Alexandra Daddario (San Andreas, Percy Jackson), Ashley Benson (Pretty Little Liars, Elvis & Nixon), Nina Dobrev (Vampire Diaries), Alexandra Shipp (Straight Outta Compton, X-Men Apocalypse), Shelley Hennig (Teen Wolf), Bianca Santos (The Duff) and Denyse Tontz (Big Time Rush).
The film is set to start it’s production in early 2016. So by then we should know more about who from this list was cast, and who not on this list made it on.
Who knows if this is going to be any good. But at this point I’ll watch anything that has Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in it. Adding beautiful women to a film never hurt either.
Paramount Pictures and Skydance Media yesterday announced that principal photography had started on Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, starring Tom Cruise, who was last seen in both Edge of Tomorrowand Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation. Cruise will also be producing the movie.
