Amidst the news of release date changeups of various Fox properties a huge curveball was thrown, and it has Deadpool’s face on it.
Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds took to his twitter on Friday and tweeted out the image below of Deadpool wearing a santa hat reading a story to The Princess Bride actor Fred Savage.
Shortly after the tweet was release Deadline reported that Fox is claiming that this unnamed Deadpool movie will be releasing this year on December 21st – the same date that Alita: Battle Angel used to hold.
It is unknown at this time what this Deadpool movie is going to be. Some are speculating that it will be a re-cut version of Deadpool 2 that released earlier this year, or a whole new Deadpool movie. According to a report by Collider, no matter what type of movie we get, the film will be rated PG-13. Something that will be a change for the character who has dominated with an R rating in the past.
What do you think of this new Deadpool movie? Is it being rated PG-13 going to change the entire character? Leave a comment below and lets make a discussion out of it.
Something that has been driving people on the internet crazy for nearly a year now is not knowing when the release date is for Deadpool 2. We don’t even have a confirmed filming start date for the project, but that hasn’t stopped news and rumors from trickling in; quenching the thirst of anxious Deadpool fans awaiting any kind of update on the project.
Well now we have something! Zazie Beetz, known for her performance in the hit 2016 show Atlanta, has been announced to be playing Domino, a Mutant with the curious ability to manipulate her luck in any situation so that it works out in her favor. Her abilities paired with Ryan Rynolds’ Deadpool is sure to make for some great laughs.
This announcement was not given in the usual press conference or interview that most casting news seems to come from – but is it really a shock that a Deadpool project would be handled unconventionally? Continue reading “Finally, Some Casting News For ‘Deadpool 2’!”
Over the last couple of weeks we have heard of countless projects getting new directors, new screenwriters, or just scraping the original scripts all together for page one rewrites (looking at you Warner Bro.) Well, it looks like Fox’s fan favorite Deadpool 2 is not impervious to adding new writers to their team either.
It has not yet been announced when we will be seeing Deadpool 2, however, production is aiming to hopefully start filming this summer. But before they can start filming there must first be a finished script. Over the past couple of months, the original Deadpool writers, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, have been working to bang out a script for the “merc with a mouth’s” sequel. However, according to a report put out by Collider, Fox is adding screenwriter Drew Goddard to help finish the script.
The report also points out that Reese and Wernick are still very involved in the creation of the script, and that Goddard is being added as a consultant. Further stating that:
Ryan Reynolds and the writers have been bunkered down, working on the script together, trying to cross the finish line and create something everyone is excited to make.
While this is a story about another writer being added to a project about to start principle photography, I do tend to believe the report that Goddard is being added as a partner to the writing team, and not as a take-over. Goddard is also a phenomenal writer; having worked on projects like Cabin in the Woods alongside Joss Whedon, Netflix’s Daredevil, and Ridley Scott’s The Martian. Seeing all of these films on Goddard’s resume confidently reassures that Deadpool 2 is in good hands.
What do you think of Goddard’s involvement? Are you looking forward to Deadpool 2? Comment below, let’s make a discussion out of it
Over the past few months, news has been slowly rolling out about Pacific Rim 2. We know that Daredevil: Season 1 showrunner Steven S. DeKnight would be taking over directing duties from Guillermo del Toro with Jurassic World co-writer Derek Connolly penning the script. And a few weeks back, we learned that John Boyega had been cast in the lead role as Idris Elba’s Stacker Pentecost’s son. Now, add a release date on to the news. Yesterday, Universal and Legendary Pictures announced that Pacific Rim 2 will open on February 23, 2018.
Over the past few months there has been lots of news pouring out about the upcoming Pacific Rim 2.
From those past news bits we have learned that Steven S. DeKnight, best known as the Daredevil: Season 1 showrunner, would be taking over directing duties from Guillermo del Toro with the Jurassic World co-writer Derik Connolly writing the script. We also learned that Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Attack the Block actor John Boyega had been cast in the leading role as the son to Idris Elba’s Stacker Pentecost’s son.
Now for the most recent news – Yesterday, Universal and Legendary Pictures announced that Pacific Rim 2 would be released into theaters on February 23, 2018. This means that it falls in-between the release dates of Marvel’s Black Panther (February 16) and Fox’s currently untitled project that is speculated to be either Deadpool 2 or New Mutants.
Later yesterday, after the release date announcement, the Hollywood Reporter reported that Scott Eastwood, Clint Eastwood’s son, is in early talks to star along side Boyega in the sequel to the 2013 sci-fi action picture.
If for some reason you can not wait until 2018 to see the young Eastwood in action, you can catch him this August in the much anticipated Suicide Squad movie.
