[This article may contain small spoilers for Guardian of the Galaxy 2]
We are a little less than a year away from the release of Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 2 but that hasn’t stopped the internet from speculating on who will show up in the film. It seems that in every interview with the director James Gunn he is asked if we will see an appearance of any of our favorite Avengers in the sequel to the 2014 surprise Marvel hit. And so far he has claimed that we would not.
Has this maybe changed?
On Friday while on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Gun posted on his Facebook page a picture of him holding up Thor’s famous hammer, Mjolnir, with the caption “Getting ready to hang a painting.”
As soon as this picture hit the internet speculation began that we would actually be seeing an appearance from the hammer wilding Avenger in Guardians of the Galaxy. And in response to the internet catching on fire over this Gun later took to his Twitter account commenting on the picture that “My statements I’ve made a hundred times are still accurate.”
So which is it Gunn? Will we not be seeing Thor in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and you just like watching the internet burn? Or is he actually showing up in the film, and you like watching the internet burn?
What do you think?
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be hitting theaters everywhere May 5, 2017.
I got another Facebook question messaged in. And this on is from Wade Riley who writes:
Are there any characters you feel are missing from the avengers that would benefit the story line?
Thank you very much for the question Wade!
I’ll give you three characters that I feel are missing and could benefit the avengers lineup.
Right off the bat I would have to say Luke Cage, also known as Power Man.
He is the embodiment of a perfect underdog story. When he was young he grew up in gangs on the streets of Harlem. And was constantly in trouble. But after several tragic incidences involving loved ones, he decides to better himself and start doing what he could to turn his life around. Right around that time he is experimented on, and through a lab mistake, is turned into Power Man – who has unbreakable skin, able to lift/press 25 tons and punch through 4 inch steel plates. He also taught himself in hand to hand combat, and self-educated in law, and is fluent is several different languages.
The Avengers are missing a power person on their team. The only one that fits the bill is Hulk, but he is too unpredictable. Cage would be able to kick all sorts of ass, as well as act as a moral center of the team when Captain America isn’t around. Continue reading “Q&A: Missing Marvel Characters?”
