It’s Confirmed! ‘Bad Boys 3’ Is Officially Happening

It has been several years since the last Bad Boys movie came out – 2003 to be exact! Now, 15 years later the 3rd installment of the film has been officially announced.

Today Will Smith took to his Instagram account to enthusiastically announce that, “It’s Official. Bad boys 3 is happening, it’s official.”  You can check out the Instagram post below.

The journey for Bad Boys 3, officially titled Bad Boys for Life, has been extremely rocky up until now.  There have been rumors of this film getting the green light for years; we’d hear progress, then nothing, then progress starting again, and then nothing.  However, back in May, Sony announced that Bad Boys for Life  would finally get a release date of January 17, 2020 but his was only after the film had been pulled from the release date calendar for nearly a year, so many, including myself, were skeptical.

In fact just last year, star of the franchise Martin Lawrence was asked to comment on any progress with the Bad Boys for Life project where he said the following:

I don’t think we’re going to get one, not the way everything’s turning out.  Will is off doing another movie, and I don’t think it’s going to happen.  I’m there, I’m ready right now. If they wanted to do it, I’m ready, but I don’t have control of that. That’s the studio’s decision.”

Thankfully Lawrence was wrong because the pieces seem to be coming together.  The latest script for the film is being penned by Chris Bremner who did The Wedding Ringer and is being directed by Adil El Arbi and Balall Fallah.

‘Beverly Hills Cop 4’ Is On Its Way!

Hold on people, Axel Foley is coming back!

It is being reported by Deadline that Paramount has just signed on Belgian directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah to direct Eddie Murphy in Beverly Hills Cop 4 – and only two decades after the third film’s release of 1994.

The powerhouse producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, will be producing this film as he did on the first two Beverly Hills Cop films that were released in 1984 and 1987.  This is a very promising move because most people that are fans of the Beverly Hills Cop movies tend to agree that the third was the weakest.  So it’s great to see Bruckheimer back.
