X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer Showing Before Star Wars

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is already shaping up for a massive opening weekend. There is no doubt that anticipation for the film is at record setting levels, with some of those records already being broken. As a result, every movie making studio is looking to attach their biggest trailers in front of the biggest movie that is Star Wars. Which makes sense – its a guaranteed massive audience.  Sure the trailers will be released online, but showing those spectacular visual effects on a theater’s big screen with massive sound is still the best way to sell your movie – and the studios know that.

There have already been reports circulating that the upcoming Marvel film, Captain America: Civil War, will be attached to preview before The Force Awakens.  Seeing as both are being released by the same studio overlord, Disney, that kind of makes sense.  However, there is now news that the first trailer for Fox’s X-Men: Apocalypse will also be attached to Star Wars: The Force Awakens! My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2!!!

“A long time ago, I had a big, fat Greek wedding.” No kidding!  The last one was made back in 2002, to be exact.  Now fast-forward 13 years, and you’ll find My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2.

After spending most of their time focusing on their troubling teenage daughter, Toula and Ian are facing marital problems while also having to deal with yet another Greek wedding – this time, even bigger and fatter.

John Corbett is returning for the sequel along with Louis Mandylor, Andrea Martin, Gia Carides and many others.  They are also being accompanied by new arrivals John Stamos and Alex Wolff. Directing this new Greek Wedding is Kirk Jones, and writting it is Nia Vardalos. The original film made a very surprising $241M in its domestic run and added $127M from overseas.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 is set for a release date of March 25, 2016.

John Wick 2 Cast

It wasn’t that long ago that Keanu Reeves blasted his way into theaters as the boogieman in the awesome “gun fu” film, John Wick.  Filming for the sequel is currently underway, and director Chad Stahelski continues to add to the film’s cast.

According to Deadline, John Wick 2 has added Riccardo Scamarcio and Peter Stormare. While John Leguizamo, Tom Sadowski, Bridget Moynahan, and Lance Reddick are returning for the sequel.

Keanu Reeves, Common, and Ian McShane have already signed on for the movie, which began filming in New York.

At this point little is still known about the plot at this time.  However, I would love to have the story revolve around the hotel from the original film, The Continental.

John Wick 2 hits theaters in 2016, and I for one can not wait. However, I hope that no dog is killed in this one.

Baywatch Looking For Its Cast

Paramount Pictures is ready to dive in with its movie transfer of the global hit TV series Baywatch. It has already been announced that Seth Gordon will be directing the film and that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Zac Efron are set to play the male leads.

It is now being reported by Deadline that Paramount Pictures has a short list of actresses who will test for the female lead.

The names being reported are: Alexandra Daddario (San Andreas, Percy Jackson), Ashley Benson (Pretty Little Liars, Elvis & Nixon), Nina Dobrev (Vampire Diaries), Alexandra Shipp (Straight Outta Compton, X-Men Apocalypse), Shelley Hennig (Teen Wolf), Bianca Santos (The Duff) and Denyse Tontz (Big Time Rush).

The film is set to start it’s production in early 2016. So by then we should know more about who from this list was cast, and who not on this list made it on.

Who knows if this is going to be any good.  But at this point I’ll watch anything that has Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in it.  Adding beautiful women to a film never hurt either.

Beautiful Poster For The Revenant

20th Century Fox has released the first teaser poster for Oscar-winning Birdman director Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s highly anticipated film The Revenant.  And it is absolutely gorgeous.

Based on true events, the film takes place in the early 19th century and stars Leonardo DiCaprio as hunter Hugh Glass, who is left for dead by his compatriots following a bear mauling. He subsequently awakens and sets out for revenge, with Tom Hardy and Domhnall Gleeson filling the roles of the men who must come face to face with Glass’ wrath. Die Hard 6 is a Prequel?!?

According to what seem to be possible rumors, Die Hard 6 is on its way and will serve as a prequel story centered around a young John McClane!

If you think this is a bad idea, then you’re at odds with the star of the Die Hard films, Bruce Willis, who had this to say when asked to give his thoughts on a Die Hard prequel:

“It’s a very good idea, a really tricky idea, and I’m very happy about it.  It’s a really cool idea, because it’s the origin story. It’s gonna happen at the beginning of this. We’re going to bounce back and forth.”

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Trailer

Sony has released a new trailer for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. The movie is being directed by Burr Steers (Igby Goes Down) and is based on Seth Grahame-Smith’s parody novel of the same name.

The film is about the Bennet sisters plated by Lily  James, Ellie BamberMillie Brady, Bella Heathcote and Suki Waterhouse as they deal with 19th century England society pressures of being women while trying to save their town from invading zombies!

The only thing I can say about this movie is…..”THIS LOOKS AWESOME!” I really hope that this movie is good.  It looks like a lot of fun.

Gambit Still Looking For a Director

The upcoming Gambit movie is slowly coming together after it’s original director Rupert Wyatt left the project last month due to “creative differences”.  However, these “creative differences” haven’t stopped Fox from pushing on with sourcing his replacement for the stand-alone X-Men film. Channing Tatum, who will be staring as the card throwing cajun, recently threw Doug Liman‘s (Edge of Tomorrow) name into the hat.  However,  if this new report from Heroic Hollywood is accurate then Liman may not be the only director that Fox is looking at.

Daddy’s Home Trailer

Today a new trailer dropped for the new upcoming comedy staring both Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg.  The film is also being directed by Sean Anders (Horrible Bosses 2, We’re the Millers).  The film synopses reads as follows:

A mild-mannered radio executive strives to become the best stepdad to his wife’s two children, but complications ensue when their freewheeling and freeloading real father arrives, forcing him to compete for the affection of the kids.

I have to admit the last time I saw Ferrell and Wahlberg team up (The Other Guys) I was underwhelmed.  However, there are some pretty good laughs in this trailer so I’m willing to give the film a chance.

Daddy’s Home is scheduled to be released this year December 25th.
