Terrifying First Look At ‘The Curse Of La Llorona’

A first look trailer for the James Wan produced film, The Curse of La Llorona, has hit the web and once again shows that anything that Wan touches will haunt your nightmares.

Wan is responsible for such terrifying horror franchises as The Conjuring and Insidious.  Now he brings us the story of La Llorona, a crying woman who lives between heaven and hell – cursed by her own hand when she drowned her two kids.  The film is directed by Michael Chaves, who Wan has picked to direct The Conjuring 3, so this proves that the horror director/producer has a lot of faith in Chaves’ capability in directing horror.

The Curse of La Llorona stars Linda Cardellini, Raymond Cruz, Patricia Valasquez, Marisol Ramirez, and Sean Patrick Thomas. The film is set for a release date of April 19, 2019.  Expect to be terrified.

First Trailer For ‘Miss Bala’ has dropped!

Sony has dropped a first look at their upcoming action/thriller movie Miss Bala, which if you translate it from spanish means “Miss Bullet.”  After watching the trailer you can see that it is aptly named.

Many do not know that this Sony film is actually a remake of a 2011 movie of the same name, but what in Spanish only.  The film is directed by Catherine Hardwickebest known for Twilight, and stars Gina Rodriguez  in the leading role as Gloria, the winner of a beauty contest that is force to work for a crime boss after witnessing a murder.  The film also stars Anthony Mackie in a currently unknown role.

On the surface this looks like your average Hollywood action film.  However, if you know the source material you can blatantly see that there is something missing.  The original Miss Bala that came out in 2011 was a brutal, R rated, movie that was meant to show just how bad some of these Mexican cartels could get.  It wasn’t just an action movie, it was a film that spoke of the atrocities experienced by many that are unwillingly drug into the cartel business.  This version of that movie is a PG-13 film that has more of a Jason Bourne/Salt feel, nothing at all like the original.

While it is certainly possible that the movie gives a better representation of the source material than the trailer does, it is probably safe to assume that this will just be a normal action movie out of Hollywood.  Miss Bala will be hitting North American theaters on February 1st of 2019.

Aladdin Teaser Trailer!!

Disney has finally released their first look at their live action Aladdin in the form of the biggest teaser trailer ever.  Just yesterday we got our first look at a teaser poster, and many speculated, correctly, that they would drop a teaser trailer toady – which you can see below

The film is set to be remake of the beloved animated feature with original and new songs written by Benji Pasek and Justin Paul who did music for the beloved musical The Greatest Showman.  The film will star Billy Magnussen as Aladdin, Will Smith as the Genie, and Naomi Scott as Jasmin.

While this teaser trailer doesn’t show much in the form of narrative, nor does it show any of the main characters outside of Aladdin himself, it does give just enough to know that this movie just may be that “diamond in the rough.”

Aladdin is set to be released on May 25th, so be prepared for more promotional material in the coming months.

2nd Trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Glass’

We finally get our second glimpse at M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming movie Glass, and it doesn’t disappoint.

If you are unaware, Glass ties together the two worlds of Shyamalan’s films Unbreakable that came out in 2000 and Split that came out in 2016.  The two movies showed three very different superhumans – Samuel L. Jackson‘s fragile yet cunning Mr. Glass, Bruce Willis‘s strong and unbreakable David Dunn and James McAvoy‘s Wendell Crumb who has 24 different personalities living inside him. Check out the trailer below!

The first trailer was debuted earlier this year at San Diego Comic Con to great applause.  And this trailer does more to get audiences excited.  If this movie proofs to be as good as the trailers have advertised then it is not question that Shyamalan is back to form and delivering entertaining movies.

Glass is scheduled to release into theaters on the 18th of January.  If you haven’t seen any of the other two movies that this one ties into you better see them by then.  From the trailer alone it is easy to speculate that you will be lost if you don’t know the backstory of each of these very unique characters.

Creepy First Trailer For Pet Sematary!

The first, very creepy, trailer for Stephen King‘s Pet Sematary was dropped today and shows that a new fresh cinematic reimagining of the beloved book and thirty year old movie is just what we need.

This remake stars Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz, and John Lithgow and is directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer.  The first iteration of this movie that came out about 30 years ago to mild success.  Ask anybody who has seen the movie and they will tell you about how creepy it is.  This trailer shows that they are aiming to capture the same magic as the original, and push the envelope even farther.

Pet Sematary will be in theaters next year on April 5th, and I can not wait.

An Awesome New Trailer/Extended Clip For ‘Aquaman’

Warner Bro. dropped a bombshell today in the form of a “trailer” that is over 5 minutes long!  This is has got to be one of the longest trailers ever put out for a blockbuster movie.

This trailer manages to cram in five minutes of footage yet accomplishes something that a lot of trailers can’t do in less time – it didn’t ruin the whole movie. Impressive.

If a trailer’s duty is to get an audience excited for a movie then DC and Warner Bros have successfully done just that.  Jason Momoa‘s Aquaman is the same character seen in the last Justice League movie, and is all the better for it.  Alongside Momoa is Amber Heard as Mera, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, and Patrick Wilson as Orm.

This trailer is awesome, the visuals look stunning, and the action is epic. James Wan seems to have been the magical touch needed for this character. If this is DC’s best step forward then it’s a damn good step.

What did you think of the trailer?  Have you been looking forward to Aquaman? Are you looking forward to it now?  Leave a comment below and let’s make a discussion out of it.

Christian Bale Is Dick Cheney In This ‘Vice’ Trailer

A new trailer has dropped for Vice and shows Christian Bale back reaching out for that Oscar this year in his portrayal of Dick Cheney.

The trailer shows how Cheney teamed up with soon to be president Bush and it is way more exciting than it should have been.  The trailer very much gives a Wolf of Wallstreet vibe as it paints Cheney and Bush in a very Jordan Belfort kind of way.

The movie is directed by Adam McKay and stars Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Alison Pill, Steve Carell and Sam Rockwell.

The comedy duo teams up again giving a comedic spin on the genius detective Sherlock Holmes – but in this movie its more like the moron Sherlock Holmes.

We’ve seen these outrageous antics before in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and Step Brothers, so expect much of the same.
