Almost a year ago Entertainment Weekly released some photos of the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse movie that featured a few of the X-Men and Apocalypse himself. And with the release of the those photos came an outcry from all over the internet that shredded the look of the first mutant. Saying that he looked like the Mighty Morphing Power Rangers villain Ivan Ooze (check out a picture of Ooze here). It looks like Bryan Singer, director of X-Men: Apocalypse heard the millions of voices crying out in terror.
In an interview with IGN Singer explained his choice for selecting Oscar Isaac for the part of Apocalypse.
There was an image released on Entertainment Weekly, where the effect hadn’t been put in yet, so everyone was – the effect has a pink light on it, and everyone got lit up pink, so people thought Apocalypse was going to be pink. I was like, ‘No no, they’re all pink. Take a look.’ I’m going to take some blame for that. My fault, not Entertainment Weekly’s. That’s the picture I game them.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, The Flash director Seth Grahame-Smith is leaving the scarlet-speedster project due to “creative differences.” Grahame-Smith, who was the screenwriter of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, was suppose to make his directorial debut with this movie. However, with his departure he will only be receiving a screenwriter credit, having already penned a draft of the movie.
The Flash has a release date of March 16, 2018 and will be staring Ezra Miller as “the fastest man alive.” So while it never sounds good to have a director leave a project they still have a lot of time to find a new director. Also, looking at the resume of Grahame-Smith I am not too broken up about his departure. I do not doubt that he can make good movies, but after the critical failure of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Bros. can not afford another flop, so getting a more seasoned director for such a beloved property would be the better idea. However, this story seemed to have started up the rumor mill in other places.
After several months of speculation, MGM and Warner Bros. have finally found their new Tomb Raider! Unfortunately it is not Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Daisy Ridley as I had previously speculated, however this new casting news is just as interesting.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ex Machina’s Alicia Vikander has been cast as the video-game icon, and will be joining director Roar Uthaug who has already been attached to the movie.
According to the report the new Tomb Raider will “tell the story of a young and untested Croft fighting to survive her first adventure.” This seems to draw inspiration from the 2013 Tomb Raider game which focuses on a young Lara Croft and her first adventure. Guys! It looks as if there is actually going to be a live action Pokémon movie. Yes there have been fan-made trailers for one I the past, and yes there have been rumors floating around the internet for several years about this very subject. But those were based on fictions reports, and speculator rumors. This, however, is the real deal!
After the crazy success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, actress Daisy Ridley is well on her way to being one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. According to a report from Deadline the young actress is at the top of a casting list to take the lead role of Laura Croft in a new Tomb Raider remake. The film has been talked about at Warner Brothers and MGM for quite some time now, but the film seems to be picking up momentum. In the same report Deadline does cautions that it is still very early in the casting process and that a new lead for the film is still not set in stone.
A release date has not yet been set for the film. However, with the rise of video game based movies in Hollywood, and the growing popularity of the new Tomb Raider video game, it is a pretty safe bet that we could see Laura Croft return to the big screen within the next two years. Today Disney announced that they will be moving Star Wars: Episode VIII from it’s previously set release date of May 26, 2017, and will be placing it in the Winter of that year, December 15, 2017. Follow me here, because this started a chain reactions that toppled over the all the other dominos other studios had in place.
Taking Star Wars’ place in the May gap will be Disney’s next installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. This means it was actually moved up from its previous release date of July 7, 2017. But wait, there’s more! Continue reading “Star Was Sets Off Release Date Dominos!”

Hey there Predator fans! The screenplay for Predator 4 has now been “turned in” according to it’s writer Fred Dekker – which sets the wheels in motion for yet another revived franchise.
The script has been co-written by Shane Black, who starred in the original Predator movie, and writer/director Dekker (Night of the Creeps, The Monster Squad). Dekker announced the screenplay had been completed via his Facebook page.
The producer of the film, John Davis, when asked by Collider about the upcoming film said the following:
The writing is so fresh, the perspective is so fresh. I’m telling you you’re going to get something you don’t expect and you’re going to say, “This is the most entertaining way to reinvent a franchise.”
Obviously take the words of a producer’ who’s job depends on getting hype for the film’ with a grain of salt. But I believe this sounds promising. Hopefully we will hear more on the project in the coming months.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is already shaping up for a massive opening weekend. There is no doubt that anticipation for the film is at record setting levels, with some of those records already being broken. As a result, every movie making studio is looking to attach their biggest trailers in front of the biggest movie that is Star Wars. Which makes sense – its a guaranteed massive audience. Sure the trailers will be released online, but showing those spectacular visual effects on a theater’s big screen with massive sound is still the best way to sell your movie – and the studios know that.
There have already been reports circulating that the upcoming Marvel film, Captain America: Civil War, will be attached to preview before The Force Awakens. Seeing as both are being released by the same studio overlord, Disney, that kind of makes sense. However, there is now news that the first trailer for Fox’s X-Men: Apocalypse will also be attached to Star Wars: The Force Awakens! It wasn’t that long ago that Keanu Reeves blasted his way into theaters as the boogieman in the awesome “gunfu” film, John Wick. Filming for the sequel is currently underway, and director Chad Stahelski continues to add to the film’s cast.
According to Deadline, John Wick 2 has added Riccardo Scamarcio and Peter Stormare. While John Leguizamo, Tom Sadowski, Bridget Moynahan, and Lance Reddick are returning for the sequel.
Keanu Reeves, Common, and Ian McShane have already signed on for the movie, which began filming in New York.
At this point little is still known about the plot at this time. However, I would love to have the story revolve around the hotel from the original film, The Continental.
John Wick 2 hits theaters in 2016, and I for one can not wait. However, I hope that no dog is killed in this one.
