Anybody that follows actor Tom Cruise for any amount of time will learn that he loves to work with people who he has worked with in the past, and it has happened again.
Writer and director Christopher McQuarrie has been brought in by Cruise to touch up the script for Top Gun 2. These two have worked together on many projects, 10 projects to be exact, with great success such as Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Edge of tomorrow and Jack Reacher. All films to be considered Cruise’s top movies of the last 2 decade.
It was announced a few months ago that due to small behind the scenes issues the project was pushed back a full year. Once word of McQuarrie’s arrival broke many speculated that he could be stepping into a more directorial role. However, sources close to the production have confirmed that McQuarrie is on hand strictly for the script and will not be taking over any directing duties. The film is not in any Danger Zone.
Top Gun 2, or its official name, Top Gun: Maverick, is directed by Oblivion director Joseph Kosinski. And has assembled an ensemble for the sequel that consists of Val Kilmer, Jennifer Connelly, Miles Teller, Jon Hamm, Ed Harris, and Glen Powell.
Production is still underway, and is set for a release date of June 26, 2020, where it is sure to take your breath away.
What do you think of Christopher McQuarrie joining the production? Are you looking forward to a new Top Gun movie? Will there be another volleyball scene? Leave a comment below and let’s make a discussion out of it.
The first trailer for Captain Marvel debuted today on Good Morning America, and introduces academy award-winning actress Brie Larson as the very anticipated Captain Marvel in the continuing Marvel Cinematic Universe.
We got our first tease of Captain Marvel in the post credit scene in Avengers: Infinity War, just as Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury became dust due to Thano’s triumph over the Avengers (spoiler, I guess, if you have not seen the movie by now).
The trailer doesn’t reveal much of Captain Marvel’s story, however it does show a lot of cool shots from the movie. I get the feeling that Marvel Studios is holding back a lot of the “wow moments,” and are using this first trailer as a way to introduce us, the audience, to a relatively unknown character.
Captain Marvel will be in theaters on March 8, 2019.
It’s been a while since we heard anything coming out of Sony/Disney about the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming. However, the silence has been broken. Yesterday, via the official Spider-Man: Homecoming twitter account, two new posters were released of the webslinger, and this morning we got one more.
The first photo shows Spider-Man lying next to the East River with the very well-known Avengers Tower in the background with the caption, “Homework can wait. The city can’t.” The second shows the web-head attached to the side of the same tower, and the third a little of the same, however Spidey attached to a sign for the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway with a caption that reads, “Quickest way to get home.” Check out all three posters below!
Lionsgate has debuted the new character posters for the Power Rangers movie. Check out the new posters in the gallery below!

Chosen by destiny, the new heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.
Its here people – we are one year away from the release of the next film in the Transformers franchise, Transformers: The Last Knight, and Paramount Pictures is not about to let it slip our minds.
Will the new film be good? Who knows. Will it make a billion dollars? Most likely. Will Paramount give us an awesome advertising campaign that will make us forget about all the previous films? Well if the release of the first poster is any indication, the answer to that question is absolutely.
Paramount Pictures took to their Twitter feed yesterday to show us their very first banner for the new Transformers film, and it looks awesome!
We haven’t heard much from Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters since the first trailer dropped online almost two months ago. Is it because they plan on releasing a lot more as we approach the July 15th release date? Or is it because the trailer did not meet audience expectations and they are rethinking their marketing strategy? Whatever the reason, Sony has unveiled some new character posters showing our new heroes in action.
On Tuesday Vin Diesel shared the first official Furious 8 poster via his Facebook page, which features just him looking out to an empty road. Furious 8 marks the first film in the franchise to not feature Paul Walker, who tragically died in a car wreck in November 2013.

Actor Vin Diesel took to his Instagram account, again, to drop more tidbits of information about one of his upcoming projects. This time, in relation to the next film in the beloved Fast and the Furious franchise. Not only does the reveal give us the title, but it also reveals one of the settings for the 2017 blockbuster.
The poster reveals that the film is called Fast 8 (no surprise there). It also reveals that the movie is set to hit cinemas on April 2017. Plot details have yet to be revealed. But it is easily gathered by the poster that one of the settings of the film will be New York. Check out the poster below.
Diesel has previously said that Dom and the crew will head to New York for some of the movie. However, there have been talks of potentially shooting in Cuba now that the restrictions are being lifted between the country and the US. That remains to be seen because director F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) is still scouting potential locations.
