October 5-7 Box Office

Money, Money Everywhere – this past weekend proved to be a huge success for the release of both Venom and A Star is Born.

First off, Venom managed to smash not only all expectations set for the movie, but also the October opening weekend record.  The previous record holder for the month of October was the 2013 film Gravity $55.7 Million, and Venom surpasses that record by near $25 Million!  Box office records are almost never beat that badly. And Venom wasn’t the only success this past weekend.

A Star is Born  was a small, low budget movie, that was being projected by most experts to make only around $25-30 Million this weekend.  And It surpassed all expectations by brining in $41.3 Million.  This is all due to the positive word of mouth surrounding the project – with many predicting the movie to receive many academy award nominations come Oscar season.
