New Character Posters for Saban’s ‘Power Rangers’

Lionsgate has debuted the new character posters for the Power Rangers movie. Check out the new posters in the gallery below!

This iteration of Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being destroyed by the evil Rita Repulsa. Chosen by destiny, the new heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.

The Power Rangers stars Dacre Montgomery as the Red Ranger, RJ Cyler as the Blue Ranger, Naomi Scott as the Pink Ranger, Becky G as the Yellow Ranger, Ludi Lin as the Black Ranger, with Bill Hader voicing Alpha 5, Bryan Cranston as Zordon, and Elizabeth Banks as the evil Rita Repulsa.  It is also directed by Dean Israelite and written by John Gatins, who is best known for writing Kong: Skull Island and Real Steel.

These posters, I believe, are actually pretty damn cool.  While you may not be able to get the full scope of these on a small computer screen – imagine if you saw one of these character posters on a billboard on the side of the highway, or plastered on the side of a building near the Lionsgate studio – you would absolutely be reminded of the film that is soon to be released.  And that is the point of these posters. To put very large versions of them on the side of a building or billboard.

When this project was first announced, I have to admit I was not interested at all.  I was never the biggest Power Rangers fan growing up, and I know that the box office has never been kind to the Rangers when released into theaters.  But between the trailers, and these new posters, I have been won over.  I am looking forward to this movie.

The Power Rangers is coming to theaters, very soon, on March 24, 2017.
