If you have ever played any of the games from the long-running Assassin’s Creed franchise then you are no doubt familiar with all of the parkour and acrobatic stunts the characters do throughout in the various games.  Top among these maneuvers is the iconic leap of faith, which involves leaping off a very tall building and plunging safely into a bale of hay.

The featurette above, released by 20th Century Fox, shows Damien Walters, Michael Fassbender‘s stunt double, performing a leap of faith from a starting point of 125 feet in the air – in the process breaking a free fall that has not been beaten in nearly 35 years!

The film is directed by Justin Kurzel, the director of Mecbeth, and is starring both Fassbender and Marion Coillard.

Whether or not Assassin’s Creed is able to make big box office returns or not – it is clear we will get a plethora of awesome stunts to look forward to.
