‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ gets first banner poster

Its here people – we are one year away from the release of the next film in the Transformers franchise, Transformers: The Last Knight, and Paramount Pictures is not about to let it slip our minds.

Will the new film be good? Who knows.  Will it make a billion dollars? Most likely.  Will Paramount give us an awesome advertising campaign that will make us forget about all the previous films?  Well if the release of the first poster is any indication, the answer to that question is absolutely.

Paramount Pictures took to their Twitter feed yesterday to show us their very first banner for the new Transformers film, and it looks awesome!

I was a fan of the first film in the franchise, and I didn’t mind the second one either.  However, I cannot deny that the two more that followed were complete garbage.  But every film had something going for them – they had awesome trailers and posters released.  Each time a film was about to come out I would “drink the Kool-Aid” and become a champion of the films, yet by the time Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Transformers: Age of Extinction came out I was utterly disappointed.

After looking at this poster I know that this is going to happen again.  However, there is something positive going for this film that the others films did not have.  Back in 2015 it was reported by several outlets that Paramount had created a “writer’s room,” that consisted of some of the top writers in Hollywood, to incubate ideas that would push the narrative along and get Transformers rolling with more sequels and potation spin-offs. Some of the reported writers included: Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), Zak Penn (Pacific Rim 2), Jeff Pinkner (The Amazing Spider-Man 2) and many others.

The film still has Michael Bay directing it; so be prepared for lost of explosions and Victoria Secret models. Returning to the film is Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager, Josh Duhamel as Lt. Colonel William Lennox, Tyrese Gibson as Robert Epps, and making his Transformers debut is Anthony Hopkins in a yet unannounced role.

Not much is known about the plot at the moment, but production is currently underway for the film

Transformers: The Last Knight has a release date set for June 23, 2017.
