Jumanji Remake Adds Jack Black!

There have been reports of a Jumanji remake in the works for the past several years, and it looks like the ball is rolling in full force on the remake.

Jumanji has just added comedian actor Jack Black to the film.  Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson went to his Instagram account on Wednesday to announce the news.

Johnson, who was cast in the movie a few weeks ago alongside Kevin Hart, said about the movie: “In our reimagining of the story of Jumanji, Jack brings that rare balance of cool with funy and edge with childlike joy.  The ‘Jumanji Breakfast club’ is coming together….myself, Jack (mf’n) Black and Kevin Hart.”

Johnson also noted that there are still two roes that have yet to be cast: “One bad ass girl.  One semi-sorta bad ass dude.”

The reveal for this came shortly after Johnson assured the fans that that the new Jumanji remake will indeed honor the late Robin Williams, who was the star of the original 1995 film.

Johnson told fans: “An important thing that I want to be honest and bring up is Robin Williams…The love and respect I have for this man is boundless. You have my word, we will honor his name and the character of Alan Parrish.”

“I have an idea of what to do and I think his family will be proud,” the star added. “I also think Robin is somewhere lookin’ down and laughing, remembering the first time we met backstage and I (for the first time ever) was a star struck bumbling idiot.”

Some people are still very skeptical of the project, and think that it should still be left alone.  I am not among that group.  I am very much looking forward to this movie.  Everything that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has touched over the past several years has turned to gold.  And I am expecting the same with this Jumanji movie.

The Jumanji remake is set to be releases on July 28, 2017.

    1. I completely agree with the original lasting forever. It’s a classic.
I am glad to say that this movie does look like it takes place in the same universe, just many years latter. So instead of any of these characters replacing Robin Williams’ character, they will just be building upon the mythology that was already established in the first movie. And I don’t mind that at all
