According to what seem to be possible rumors, Die Hard 6 is on its way and will serve as a prequel story centered around a young John McClane!
If you think this is a bad idea, then you’re at odds with the star of the Die Hard films, Bruce Willis, who had this to say when asked to give his thoughts on a Die Hard prequel:
“It’s a very good idea, a really tricky idea, and I’m very happy about it. It’s a really cool idea, because it’s the origin story. It’s gonna happen at the beginning of this. We’re going to bounce back and forth.”
Also, just last week TheWrap reported that Live Free or Die Hard director Len Wiseman is in talks to direct the prequel for 20th Century Fox. While the movie is said to star a younger John McClane set in 1979 New York City, Willis is expected to appear in a present-day sequences as well.
Getting all of this right is going be very difficult I could imagine. The last two Die Hard films went from not very good to very bad. So this shift in direction could be the studio scrambling to have a Die Hard hit on their hands again. But is a prequel necessary? I don’t think so. But how about leaving your comments below and letting me know if i’m crazy for not getting excited about his.
